Underrated...

Everytime I listen to 'Pyar ke Liye' from 'Dil Kya Kare', I cant help but wonder why didnt this track become a blockbuster single....But then its also true that had it been so I would have probably got sick of the over exposure to the track and wouldnt have liked it as much...these are what i call 'under-rated' tracks....these are the tracks which are close to out heart and yet which dont become as huge a hit as they are in our lives...Like for example one of the biggest underrated track this year has to be 'Le Chalein' from 'My Brother Nikhil'. The track has been amazingly well written and Shaans's rendition of the same provides a very soothing feel to the entire track...Sadly in India success of such tracks also depends on who its been picturised on and whether the movie has done well or not...MBN bombed...Had it been a hit I am sure this track would have been on everybody's lips....Look at what the success of 'Gadar' did to its tracks...absoultely mediocre tracks suddenly were zooming their way up on the charts...who would have thought after listening to 'Main Nikla Gadi Leke' for the first time that this track would be such a huge hit?But it did...in fact every truck drivers favourite song up north was this very track!

But nevertheless underrated tracks on the other hand should be so...cos there is a certain aura of exclusivity to such tracks...they are almost virgin like in nature...untouched and pure...which is why the effect stays on long after you've heard it for the first time....

So whats your fav. underrated track?

Musical Wave....!

Looks like the Bollywood industry suddenly seems to be experiencing some cool new sounds! With every passing day the number of tracks that are fighting it out for a place among the song of the year category keeps increasing....In the last 2-3 months alone we have had some fantabulous tracks to swing to....

Dhadak dhadak from BnB
Teri Tho from Bombay Rockers
Channa Vey
Kajra Re from BnB
Dus Bahane from Dus
Just Chill from Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya

And not to forget the baap of all tracks this year and i think we can safely conclude as the song of the year - 'Woh Lamhe' from Zeher. I mean seriously! Its become the pseudo-anthem of the country. Just like one has to stand up for the national anthem, one cant stop oneself from swinging the feet to this track!

The list of tracks is endless....and not just tubthumping tracks...there has been something for everyone...if u r more of the taal and raag person you have 'Paheli', if you like melody and dont care abt the taal and raag you have 'Parineeta'. Techno ppl have 'Dus'. Agrees not your typical western stuff but hey we are getting there slowly! The whacko ppl looking for timepass music have Kya Kool Hai Hum and Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, while the commercial aam junta album has been 'Lucky' with some excellent compositions.

Well its not even half a year yet, and we have had such fantastic stuff! Cant wait to look forward to the rest of the year!
